Weddings
I am an experienced, relaxed, approachable and friendly wedding photographer. I take pride that PMBPhotography has become a well known and respected name within the wedding industry.
From helping you plan the timings of your day, assisting in creating the shoot lists for your formal photographs, I will take steps to ensure your plans and ideas are met and exceeded.
A lot of couples say the one thing about their wedding day they were nervous about, were the romantic couple portraits. I work with all couples to ensure that you are relaxed and enjoy the whole experience.
Your wedding day is the biggest day of your lives together, I will capture the story of your day with a mixture of candid journalistic photographs along with the artistic photos of your venue and all the moments that count.
No matter how big or how intimate your day is. I will provide you with a professional experience, tailored and based around your ideas and visions.
PMBPhotography is not only a business, this is my passion. I get hired to be a part of peoples special days. I get to meet amazing people, share in those magical moments and provide them with an experience and product that will stay with them forever.
How I photograph a wedding day
I stay out of the way. Most of the day you won't notice me — I'm photographing what's already happening rather than arranging it. The conversations, your mum's face during the speeches, your nephew asleep under a table by nine.
There are three points where I do step in: the group photos, the couple portraits, and anything you've specifically asked for. Those aside, the day runs itself and I follow it.
The group photos
This is the part most couples dread, and fair enough: badly run, it eats an hour and everyone ends up looking cold and irritated.
We agree the list beforehand — usually eight to ten groupings, no more. I ask you to nominate one person from each side who knows everyone by sight, because the slow part is never the photographs, it's finding great-uncle Brian. With a list and two people rounding up, ten groups takes about twenty minutes.
If you'd rather skip formal groups entirely, that's fine too. Some couples do.
What you get, and when
You'll get a private online gallery within three weeks, and the full set of edited images on a wooden gift boxed USB. Every image is individually edited — colour, exposure, straightening. I don't hand over unedited files.
You get full printing and social media rights, so you can order prints anywhere you like and post whatever you want.
I also film wedding highlight videos, booked separately from your photography.
Some of my favourite wedding venues
Thirty or so venues across Hampshire and the south coast that I have photographed at, a good number of them many times over. Knowing a venue helps: where the light falls late in the afternoon, where the group photos actually work, how long it really takes to move everyone from the ceremony to the drinks.
Portsmouth, Southsea and the Solent — Southsea Castle, the Square Tower, the Queens Hotel, the Spinnaker Tower, Alverbank Hotel in Gosport, Tournerbury Woods Estate and Hayling Island Sailing Club, Rookesbury Park at Wickham, Stansted Park at Rowlands Castle, the Solent Hotel & Spa at Whiteley, and New Place Hotel at Shirrell Heath.
Winchester and Southampton — Chilworth Manor, East Horton Golf Club, the Marwell Hotel, Avington Park and Kimbridge Barn near Romsey.
The New Forest and the Dorset border — Rhinefield House, Burley Manor, Careys Manor at Brockenhurst, Sopley Mill and Highcliffe Castle.
North and east Hampshire — Oakley Hall at Basingstoke, Highfield Park at Hook, Old Thorns at Liphook, Froyle Park and the Tithe Barn at Petersfield.
West Sussex — Southdowns Manor at Trotton, Southend Barns at Chichester, Bury Manor Barn at Pulborough and the Secret Barn at Storrington.
This is not everywhere I have worked, and it is not a limit on where I will travel. If your venue is not on the list, please just ask — there is a fair chance I have shot there anyway, and if I have not, I would be glad to.
